Choosing between individual and couples therapy depends on your primary focus:
Individual Therapy is ideal if you want to focus on your personal relationship with your body, process past guilt or trauma, address individual performance anxiety, or explore your identity and desires privately.
Relationship Therapy is best if your concerns center on the dynamic between you and a partner—such as desire discrepancies, communication roadblocks, rebuilding trust, or reigniting your physical connection together.
During your initial 15-minute consultation, we can discuss your specific concerns and determine which approach (or combination of approaches) will be most effective for you.

Yes, sex therapy and intimacy counseling are highly effective. Clinical research consistently shows that evidence-based modalities—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic experiencing, Mindfulness-Based Sex Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—lead to significant, lasting improvements in sexual satisfaction, relationship quality, and individual well-being.
Therapy works because it addresses the complete picture: the emotional, physiological, relational, and cultural factors that shape your intimate life. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we help you identify root causes, unlearn absorbed anxiety and shame, build practical communication skills, and reconnect with your body.
Ultimately, therapy works best when you have an active, engaged collaborator. While we provide the clinical roadmap, specialized education, and targeted tools, real change happens as you integrate these insights into your life, step into bodily autonomy, and practice new ways of connecting both in and out of the bedroom.

Finding the right therapist comes down to both clinical specialty and personal rapport. We are likely a great fit if you are looking for an active, highly engaged collaborative style rather than a passive therapist who just sits back and nods.
Here is how to tell if our practice aligns with what you need:
You want direct, warm, and engaged care: We don't play games of staring "chicken" waiting for you to speak, nor do we rely on passive "mhmms." We ask insightful, direct questions (always kindly) and take the lead when you don't know where to start.
You value pleasure education alongside clinical sexology: You are looking to release anxiety and shame, unlearn purity culture or taboo, understand what actually feels good in your body, and learn how to communicate your needs clearly.
You want a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space: We bring a feminist, sex-positive, and trauma-informed lens to our work, offering knowledgeable care for LGBTQIA+ individuals, consensual non-monogamy (CNM), kink communities, and diverse relational structures.
You are seeking specialized expertise: You want to work directly with AASECT Certified Sex Therapists and Doctors of Clinical Sexology who specialize in sexual pain, desire mismatches, orgasmic concerns, and relational intimacy.
The best way to know for sure is to schedule a free initial consultation. It gives us a chance to hear what you are navigating, answer your questions, and see how it feels to talk together before committing to a full session.

We operate as a out-of-network providers, and do not bill health insurance directly. While this can be disappointing, many specialized sex therapists choose not to panel with insurance companies for two crucial reasons:
Privacy & Confidentiality: Billing insurance directly requires sharing formal clinical diagnoses and session notes with your provider, meaning the details of your intimate life and bedroom dynamic become part of your permanent medical record.
Coverage Restrictions: Many health insurance plans classify sexual health concerns, desire mismatches, or intimacy dynamics as "not medically necessary," refusing to cover them under standard mental health benefits.

Sessions are typically 45 to 50 minutes long and initially take place on a weekly basis to build momentum, establish safety, and create meaningful progress.
Because therapy is tailored to your unique goals, the total duration varies. As you achieve your initial milestones, we may transition to bi-weekly sessions or monthly maintenance check-ins. We will regularly discuss your progress and outline a flexible timeline that aligns with your needs and budget.
